SolusGuard Technology

Frequently asked questions.

Do the employees need a smartphone to use the wearable panic button?

Yes, the SolusGuard panic button must pair with a compatible smartphone that has an active cellular and data connection. Contacts should also use a smartphone to ensure SolusGuard alerts work properly as notifications, GPS location, and inactivity can only be accessed through the SolusGuard mobile app.

SolusGuard requires a smartphone with iOS10+ or Android OS 6+. We support all iPhones 5 and later operating on iOS10+. Most Android phones running Android OS 6+ are supported.

How long does the battery last on the wearable panic button?

The battery will last for 3-4 days (depending on usage) before needing to be recharged. We recommend leaving the device on the charger when not in use. Typical charging time for  device is about two hours.

Is there warranty on the wearable panic button devices?

We offer a one-year warranty on all purchased devices. If devices are rented, they are always covered under warranty. Warranty can not be used to replace lost devices.

Do emergency contacts need the SolusGuard app as well?

Yes. It is recommended all contact install and log into the SolusGuard mobile app. This ensures they receive alert notification, can access GPS location of the person in an active alert, and can communicate with others.

There is no fee for emergency contact accounts.

Can the wearable panic button be paired to multiple smartphones at the same time?

No. The panic button can only be paired to one smartphone at a time. If employees would like to share the device, it is recommended that they use a shared smartphone as well so the device always remains paired to the same phone.

The device can be unpaired from a smartphone and paired to a new phone but this is only recommended to be done when an employee gets a new phone or with staff turnover.

Does SolusGuard track location at all times?

Privacy is our highest priority. SolusGuard only tracks the employee’s location when they press the panic button, start a check-in session, or press the in-app SOS button. We respect your right to privacy and treat your personal information with strict confidentiality.

How close does the wearable panic button need to be to the smartphone to work?

Since SolusGuard uses Bluetooth technology, the panic button and phone will need to be within range of each other to send alerts and transmit data. This range depends on specific circumstances, like phone model and current environment, but is typically 20 to 30 feet. In general, it is best for employees to keep their SolusGuard and smartphone close together.

Will the wearable panic button drain my phone battery?

No. The panic button uses special low energy technology to ensure it stays connected to your smartphone without draining the battery.

What data security protocols does SolusGuard follow?
